This is not a course that starts and ends; this is just the start of your Pilates journey. I will be your guide through your journey, your accountability partner and your cheerleader. You will work hard, but I promise you it will be worth it.

MODULE 1

S-SPINE

In this module, we will learn about the five different movements the spine can do. We'll look at how you can see these five spine shapes in your pilates practice and why it is important to learn to move your spine in every direction. The main spinal movement you will learn in this course is forward bending.

MODULE 2

T - TOTAL BODY

In this module, we will focus on the whole body. You will learn how to create a two-way stretch. This will help improve your flexibility and overall range of movement. The two-way stretch allows you to move with ease, pushing and pulling in different directions in one movement. This is what results in Pilates clients feeling stretched, elongated, and worked all at the same time.

MODULE 3

R- RHYTHM

In Pilates, you use rhythm to build strength and stamina. Coordinating your breathing with your movements is an important part of Pilates. You will learn about different types of rhythms and how to apply them to your Pilates practice. We will also look at the importance of breath in Pilates and how to use it to create a strong body.

MODULE 4

O - OWN IT

The goal of Pilates is to foster good movement habits that you can apply to your life. We do Pilates so that we can move better in our everyday lives, not just in the studio. In this module, you will learn how to "own" your Pilates practice. You'll learn about the different accessories of Pilates and how to use them to create a well-rounded practice so that you can do your practice anywhere, anytime.

MODULE 6

N - NUMBER OF REPS

One way to create a full body Pilates workout is by understanding that the reps we do are just as important as the exercises we do. In this module, we will look at how to increase the intensity of our Pilates practice not by doing more reps, but by doing the reps well.

MODULE 7

G - GO FOR IT

This is our last module, where we put it all together. Spine shapes, rhythm, reps and owning your Pilates practice all come together in this module. You will learn how to sequence a Pilates workout and how to make it your own. We'll also look at the importance of goal setting in Pilates and how to use it to create lasting change in your body.

In the last 4 Pilates sessions, I will work out from my mat with you all, keeping the pace of the class! We will explore some of the more intermediate exercises to challenge your body even more.
