My Movement Journey

Hello, you beautiful soul! I’m Sharon Parsons – a Canadian Pilates instructor, outdoor lover, & semi-pro sourdough baker. I’m also a wife, human/dog mama, family-first type of human. When I’m not teaching, you can find me hiking mountains, sipping tea, and listening to a good podcast – all while dreaming up ways to share my passion for movement with the world!

When I was 19, I started to experience pain from shin splints in my left leg – the kind that made it difficult to walk, let alone go for my daily run! I was frustrated (OK, pretty ticked off…) and in constant pain – until I discovered Pilates. Within 10 sessions, my shin splints were GONE! As I started to regain my physical strength, I realized the spiritual transformation the practice had on my everyday life. Enter my Pilates obsession and life mission.

After the birth of my son, Ryder, I decided to go all-in and get my Classical Pilates certification. 950 hours of training and testing later, I opened a local studio in Penticton, BC, where I taught thousands of people of all experience levels, including other teachers who were looking to improve their teaching. Then, 2020 happened. Like so many businesses, I pivoted to a 100% online studio – where I’ve been able to build an inspired community and help even more people reach their fitness goals.

There is a lot of noise in the online fitness space. So, what makes my teaching style different?

I started teaching Pilates because I don’t believe anyone should accept pain and fatigue as “normal”. Or have to take this journey alone! Other things I don’t believe in: quick-fix solutions, buzzwords, or one-and-done efforts. My job is not to transform the way you look – it’s to give you a deeper understanding of your body so you can move everyday with ease. 

As my business shifted online, so did my dreams of bringing something truly authentic to the industry. Something that fits the demands of a busy schedule and gets you moving on your own terms. Something that gets to the root cause of your discomfort so you can start to heal. Something that transforms your whole being from the inside out.
